Mobile Racks
Mobile Racks are suitable for pallet storage simplifying location control and expediting forklift input/output operation. A fully automated mobile racking system offers many benefits including the reduction in labour cost, leading to maximum economic efficiency. Maximum storage capacity or minimum use of space in a given area are both possible through the integration of the mobile rack system. The system enables direct access to all pallet storage locations, making re-storage operations unnecessary, and eighty percent utilization of areas is possible.
It reduces wasted aisle space and improves storage efficiency and location control is simple and can be accurately performed. Designed using advanced techniques, these are used to store various things in an effective manner. Known for their sturdiness, corrosion resistance and durability, these are available in different specifications and can also be customized as per needs.
Pallet rack is a single or multi-level structural storage system of mobile racks. All types of pallet racking create some level of increase in storage density with the least dense being the least expensive and cost increases with storage density. Pallet racks are an essential element in most modern warehouses, manufacturing facilities, retail centres, and other storage and distribution facilities.
Many types of pallet storage racks are available with different designs to fulfil specific functions or create specific advantages. When deciding on the type of pallet rack to use, several basic considerations have to be taken into account like desired storage density, floor space and building height, placement of building doors and columns, inventory accessibility, item/load size and weight, optimal storage design & cost of materials and installation. Selective pallet rack is the most common pallet racking system in use today. Selective pallet racks typically come in one of two configurations: a roll formed, or clip-in configuration, and a structural bolt-together configuration.
Some of the most common types of pallet rack systems are:
a. Drive-in and drive-through racks are storage rack configurations that allow the forklift to drive directly into the lane of stacked rows (called a bay). The difference between a drive-in and a drive-thru pallet rack system is simply whether the bays have an entry at only one end, or at both ends. Drive-in rack systems use a common entry and exit, while drive-thru systems have entry points at either end of the bay.
b. Push-back pallet rack systems are designed around the principle of organizing space by depth rather than width. This depth arrangement greatly reduces aisle space and increases storage density. In this configuration, each bay can be up to six pallets deep
c. Pallet flow rack systems are high density pallet storage systems that utilize depth to increase capacity. This system uses a slightly inclined rail with rollers that allow pallets to move easily along the sloped plane. These systems are also called gravity flow or dynamic flow systems.
d. Double deep pallet racks provide greater utilization of warehouse space due to the density of the loads stored and narrow aisle design of the double deep pallet rack. On a cost-per-pallet basis, a double deep pallet rack system is significantly more cost-effective than conventional selective pallet racks.
